I really want to have a few good photos of all three kids--Some individual shots and some of the three of them together. With the holidays coming up, I thought that it would be fun to do our Christmas pictures early this year so that we could take them outside. I had seen some photos at a covered bridge in the Madison area and decided that it would be the perfect spot for our Christmas pictures. It took me FOREVER to find this bridge. Late Saturday afternoon, though, we got the kids fancied up and drove out to find the bridge.
I am my biggest critic and felt very frustrated by the end of the shoot, as I was convinced that I didn't get a single good shot/had wasted our entire afternoon. The kids kept posing and giving cheesy smiles. The light was perfect, but I sometimes didn't use it very well. Blah blah blah. On the way home, I promised myself that I would stick to shooting landscapes and never do another people shoot again. But once I pulled the photos off the camera and took a look at them, I was pleasantly surprised. I definitely have a long ways to go and I'm sure that somebody else could have done a much better job, but I did get some good shots which is all I really wanted in the first place.
