Abbie started her second year of preschool a few weeks ago. This year she is part of the Lamb Class at Mt. Olive Christian Preschool. She attends school M,W,F from 9-11:30. Abbie enjoys preschool, although she tells me every day that she'd rather stay home with me (sometimes rather forcefully). Getting her to go is often difficult, but she is almost always smiling when she runs out of the gym at the end of the morning.
I struggled with Abbie being gone more than I thought I would. I know that we need a break from each other, and that she benefits from the learning/structure that happens at preschool, but I really don't like coming home to an empty house. I still cried this morning after I dropped her off. I must admit, though, that it is nice to have some time to myself. Mostly I've spent the time catching up on all of the things I can't accomplish with kids home, like really cleaning my house, folding laundry, showering for more than 3 minutes. Once, though, I did go hang out with a friend for two hours. And once, I watched a movie while I crafted. I am still working on finding a balance between doing things for myself and finishing the never-ending list of tasks that I can't fit into my days.
I'll just apologize in advance for the photos. Abbie was not too happy that I brought the camera to school.
Here she is, feigning sadness and anger, because I made her pose for a picture before going into school
If I had a nickel for every time I saw that devious face...
I sure do love Mt. Olive. Those women are saints. A good friend of mine from high school just moved to Madison and I sent her to Mt. Olive and she is thrilled with it as well. Luke was/is the same way about going to school. He likes it once he gets there but is grumpy about going.
