Nate's Percy Jackson Party

We had a blast throwing Nate's birthday party this year. The Percy Jackson books are really popular right now. We've been reading them for bedtime stories, and Nate and I read them all for our book club. Most of Nate's friends have read and enjoyed them, as well. Here are a bunch of pictures from the party--It was so much fun!
Monsters for archery practice
Tattoos for being claimed by a godly parent

I designed and made all of these shirts using freezer paper. It was definitely worth it.
Archery Practice
Getting ready for chariot races

The golden fleece in Thalia's tree with it's dragon guard
Capture the Flag

Poseidon Cake
Edible coral I made using Isomalt

I painted the symbol of each demi-god's godly parent on their shield. The shield matched the tattoo they got at the beginning of the party when they were claimed.

  2. You are THE*COOLEST*MOM*EVER. I haven't read the books, but that party looks amazing. Tattoos?! Shields?! HOMEMADE T-SHIRTS?!?!?! Oh Emily. You are too talented for words. The cake's pretty awesome, too. Happy birthday to sweet Nate! He definitely deserves a Mom like you.
