Summer 2012

Here's my attempt at blogging the last several months without driving myself more insane. Tons of photos, not very many words. Here we go!
It was hot. We tried to fry an egg on the sidewalk. This is what we got.
One of our summer fun projects--Building with marshmallows and toothpicks.
Nate made a V-Wing
Airplane
Hang glider
Alan shot Nate with Noah's baby food. What good daddy.
Noah likes to check the bathroom inventory while Alan shaves.
Another summer fun project--Homemade bouncy balls (made from Borax!)
I'm not sure why they're wearing their bike helmets?
Exercising at the zoo with DONALD DRIVER!

We didn't win a signed football, but the kids had a great time anyway.
A summer fun field trip to the National Mustard Museum
25 pounds of sweet Georgia peaches
5 pounds of sweet Michigan blueberries
Peach Pie
A meal made entirely from Farmer's Market purchases

I think this was Havarti. Maybe, maybe not.

Rain this summer was scarce, but we took advantage whenever we could.

Raspberry picking at a local farm. This place is amazing--You just drop your money in a bucket based on how much you think you picked. And the views are gorgeous.
We were all red-fingered and lipped for a few days.
Lots of time was spent playing with neighbors. It is going to be so, so difficult to leave this neighborhood next summer. We have been so blessed to live nearby so many lovely families and children for our kids to enjoy.
Summer Fun Activity--Fort Building on a rainy day
Don't forget your cooking supplies!
These kids begged to keep the fort up for days.

Abbie's AMAZING kindergarten teacher sent her a letter at the end of the summer.  Because Abbie's in a K/1 class, she has Mrs. Delgado again this year. What kind of teacher sends her students a personal letter before the school year starts?! We love this woman. LOVE HER.
Summer fun. That about sums it up.
