Hibernation Mode

As winter approaches, I am feeling more and more like I need to prepare my cave.  My body seems to sense that we'll be spending a lot more time indoors--I'm constantly thinking of ways that I can make my home more warm and inviting for the bitter months to come.  We've done some painting and a lot of reorganizing.  That's a constant project.
Our kitchen went from narsty off-white and burgundy to a lovely pale blue.  It brightens the room up quite nicely.  The cabinets are my next project.  And I'm loving the giant magnetic whiteboard--Now I can clean off my fridge and have a place for all the stuff that usually ends up in piles.  I hate piles.
Art projects lie scattered around my house in (those nasty) piles.  Now I have a place to hang them, and rotate them, and photograph them.  And then throw them away.
Our dining room went from a pale yellow and off white to this color.  I think that it's warm and cozy.  It also matches the very red accent wall that is not pictured here.
I told Abbie the other day that I would like to hibernate.  To eat until I can't eat anymore, lie down in a warm and cozy bed, sleep until it's warm again (and through an entire pregnancy), to wake up to some lovely cubs and springtime.
"But what about Christmas, Mommy?"
A girl can dream...
