Friends and Faces

This whole ordeal with my back has taught me a lot of things.  Tolerance of pain, patience, how to deal with frustration.  But one of the most important things I've learned involves friends.  This has taught me the value of good friends, and also which of my friends truly are my friends.

I've also been blessed to get to know an amazing woman.  She has become a wonderful friend.  She calls me frequently, she brings me wonderfully healthy food, she visits me and helps me put pillows under my legs when I can't reach.  She is a friend.   She also has the most adorable, sweet, fun almost 2 years old in the universe.  This little boy has been spending a lot of time at my house, playing with Alan so that his mommy and I can talk and so that she can help take care of me, and making me smile.  He has actually fallen in love with Alan, moving quickly to the stairs when Alan comes home and he hears his voice, following him around, and once even calling him "dada."  :)  So cute.  My most favorite thing that this sweet child does is make faces.  He has faces to match every emotion, and will make them on command.  I finally had to take some pictures of his faces:

  1. Aww, thanks, Emily. I feel honored to be your friend, plus, it's very healing for me to be able to show empathy for my own traumatic back surgery. Lane loved seeing his face on your blog! We love you and will see you soon! xoxoxo
