During the week following my surgery, Nate ended up with Strep Throat. My boy was sick. I have never seen my Nate-Nate that sick. He was running fevers of 103 from Monday night until Friday evening. Towards the end of the week, he developed a full body rash. It was Scarlet Fever. His rapid Strep test was negative, but after 48 hours, the Strep grew, so he was finally able to start antibiotics. Nate completely lost his voice, and literally spent the entire week whispering. He wasn't able to eat anything solid because his throat hurt so badly. He slept more than a six year old should sleep, he wasn't interested in playing. Nate just wanted to lay in the couch, cuddled under his fire truck blanket, watching movies. He's still taking the antibiotics, but is feeling much better, and is finally back to the sweet, energetic little boy I love.
