I'm So In Love

I have a recollection of reading an article about the brain and love.  It talked about all of the hormones that are released in each stage of love.  Of course in the first stage, hormones are raging, creating the so-called Honeymoon Period.  (This is why I will NEVER understand people who get married within months of meeting each other.)  Slowly the hormones change, lessen.  The gist was that individuals who have been together for long lengths of time don't still feel that burst of emotions ("love"), as they probably did initially.  This has all been shown in brain scans, as well.  There were, however, those few couples who had been married for eons, but chemically, still appeared to be in the early stages of love.  That's us.  Alan and I have been best friends for 13 years now, been together for 10 years.  And yet my heart still pounds out of my chest, my stomach flutters, when I hear him pull his car into our driveway.  I sometimes get goosebumps just because he's holding my hand.  It's so amazing, being this in love.

These are the roses I got for Valentine's Day.  He was on call at the hospital that night, so he completely outdid himself.  Two dozen roses, the colors of the roses in our wedding.
I'm so lucky.  There's no way I deserve him.

  2. It shows! When I saw you two sitting together in church Sunday, I thought "they look so in love!" Good for you two having such a great romance.

  3. That really is so special and sweet. I think one thing that keeps your love so alive is how good you are at expressing your love for him so openly, it's very sweet! :)
