A Great Summer Day

We went to the zoo today!! Michelle called around 9 and asked if we wanted to play. We decided that it would be a great day to go to the zoo. We had so much fun! I'll let the pictures tell the story:
The lion came right up to the glass!
The daddy giraffe showed us his black tongue while the mommy and baby ate in the background
Nate, Abbie and Sofia
We splurged and got Firecracker Popsicles!
Blue tongues, post Popsicles!
Riding the carousel
Riding the train caboose!
Check out the crazy gibbon behind Nate!
After our super-fun morning with Michelle and Sofia, we came home for naps. Abbie slept while Nate had quiet time. When Abbie woke up, we went over to Melissa's house. Nate, Abbie and Jacob played so well together! Sometimes the boys gang up on Abbie, but today they did great! Everybody was playing together! We joke that Abbie and Jake sound like an old married couple when the fight--It's pretty funny. Abbie said, "Jacob--Wait for me!" Jacob said, "Hurry up!" Hee hee. We left Melissa's house, came home and got ready as fast as we could for a new faculty/trainee reception for Alan. Abbie threw a massive tantrum because she didn't want to wear a dress--She changed her mind once I forced it onto her head and she realized how cute she looked. 2-year-olds! The reception was nice and the kids were very well-behaved. We walked home from the reception while Alan took the car and went back to the hospital for call tonight. Who knows when we'll see him again! :) Overall, it was a good day. I relish being able to be outside all day--It makes such an unbelievable difference to our day. One more reason to move to San Diego after Residency (and Fellowship)! Ah, California...

  2. A day at the zoo! Always a good choice. I remember that giraffe enclosure - we have pictures of you and your sisters near the giraffes.
